Aviemore, Scotland. November 7, 2022: Wilderness Scotland, along with sister companies Wilderness Ireland and Wilderness England, are looking ahead to 2023 with a line-up of exciting new trips through the islands and highlands of Scotland, throughout the Emerald Isle, and across England’s bucolic countryside.
In Scotland, the award-winning adventure travel company is offering a selection of new itineraries that run the gamut from a winter wellness retreat to wilderness walking on the Isle of Rum. Here are some highlights:
Winter Walking – Mull and Iona: There’s a wild beauty about the islands of Mull and Iona in winter, when the islands’ starkness can be felt in the sea arches that stand like ancient battlements, the gulls that wheel white as snow, and the ethereal light that glimmers across the landscape. These stunning Inner Hebridean islands offer captivating and diverse vistas, along with a fascinating history, deep-rooted culture, and rich traditions. Departures are available in February and March.
Winter Wellness – Skye: When all the summer visitors have returned home, and the island unfurls its wintery beauty, this five-day/four-night women’s only wilderness retreat offers an incredible and supportive environment, free from competitiveness and characterized by inclusivity. Partake in enriching, immersive activities while connecting with like-minded women. Departures are available in February and March.
Wilderness Walking – The Isle of Rum: On this six-day guided walking holiday, travelers will have a chance to explore the volcanic mountains, sweeping moorlands, and towering cliffs on the diamond-shaped Isle of Rum. The largest of the Small Isles, Rum has been a National Nature Reserve since 1957. It is quieter, wilder, and more remote than some of its more famous counterparts. This new trip is as much about discovering the island as it is about protecting it, and visitors will join island rangers for a beach clean and wildlife count. Departures are available starting in May.
