Professional golfer Brad Dalke, a standout player and national champion at the University of Oklahoma will team up with friend, former OU teammate, and four-time All American Quade Cummins as they take on YouTube sensations known collectively as BustaJack on their YouTube channel that boasts 210,000 subscribers, Cole Lantz and Mason Nutt. Dalke is part of the mega-popular YouTube golfing collective Good Good which boasts a following of 1.7 million subscribers. Dalke’s YouTube following is presently near 77,000. Cummins recently earned his PGA TOUR card after a successful season on the Korn Ferry Tour.

“Shangri-La Resort is excited to host The Battlefield Shootout with four great players with Oklahoma ties to showcase the brilliant design of our Battlefield par-3 course, which has been called the ‘best short course in the country’ by multiple travel writers,” said Shangri-La’s Director of Golf Ryan Snyder. “Book your weekend package early for this special event. There’s already a buzz around this spirited match that will pit OU legends against the BustaJack guys who spent time at Oklahoma State. This match, teeing off at high noon on October 26, promises to be a memorable experience for our members, resort guests and Oklahoma’s golf fans.”

THE FESTIVITIES BEGIN OCT. 25

Friday evening, October 25th, Shangri-La Club members and guests will have the opportunity to mingle with the players at a Dinner Reception starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Shangri-La Resort. Tickets that include access to the Dinner and a Battlefield Shootout Grounds Pass are available for $49. Grounds Passes for the golf match (Oct. 26 at Noon) are available for $20. Parking is complimentary. Tickets are limited and the event will sell out.

The growing phenomenon of YouTube golf has brought an enthusiastic and unexpected new fanbase into the golfing space and has made a growing number of talented young golfers into bonafide celebrities.

The recent Creator Classic, played at East Lake Country Club during the week of TOUR Championship, featured 16 YouTube players and garnered more than one million views on the PGA TOUR’s YouTube channel. Individual events like the Good Good Open have tallied as many as 50 million media impressions and helped raise the profiles of these players.

“Quade and I are excited to play this match against Cole and Mason from BustaJack for some serious Oklahoma and Bedlam bragging rights on a course we’ve heard is one of the best par-three courses around,” Dalke said. “We look forward to having the gallery walk with us during the match so they have an up-close view of every shot. We can’t wait to make a ton of birdies and have a blast with everyone at Shangri-La Resort.”

Similarly, the BustaJack duo relishes taking on two Oklahoma golfing legends at the state’s most iconic golf resort. “Playing Brad and Quade is a pretty daunting challenge so I’m glad we’re doing this match on a awesome par-3 course with a great Oklahoma State Cowboy crowd walking with us. We’re going to throw everything we’ve got at them and encourage golf fans to come out and cheer us on at the Battlefield at noon on October 26,” said BustaJack’s Mason Nutt

THE VENUE FOR THE BATTLEFIELD SHOOTOUT IS UNFORGETTABLE

The 3,000-yard Battlefield layout is a short course of creative, articulated scale and vision, constructed on an exceptional piece of land that features more than 100 feet of elevation change across its acreage. The scenic, strategic course was constructed for $15 million with each hole named in honor of an Oklahoma veteran of WWII. The Battlefield has its own clubhouse and turn house concessions and golf carts, as well as a short warm-up facility and an expansive putting green.

Designed by architects Tom Clark and Kevin Atkinson, with building designs by Mark Thomas, The Battlefield features Bermuda grass fairways, and Bent Grass greens, just like the 27-hole Championship course at Shangri-La. Although the course is walkable, golfers should prepare for dramatic elevation changes. With multiple tee boxes, The Battlefield’s difficulty of the course will vary depending on the tee boxes chosen by players.

“The Battlefield is a beautiful, captivating, and purposefully designed short course like no other,” says PGA Director of Golf Ryan Snyder. “It’s an endlessly fun and engaging experience for golfers of every skill level that also recognizes our brave military personnel, with special commemorations to World War II veterans on every hole. The course has an energy and excitement that, along with our renovated, world-class 27-hole championship course, elevates the golf experience at Shangri-La into the ‘Must Play’ category among the nation’s destination resorts.”

This enjoyable, accessible par-54 course which features holes from 110 to 245 yards, joins the acclaimed 27 championship holes at Shangri-La, the Legends, Heritage and Champions courses (framed elegantly on the shores of the expansive Grand Lake O’ The Cherokees) to present an extraordinary 45-hole golfer’s paradise that buddies’ trip groups and golf aficionados from all over the country will want to add to their bucket list. Adjacent to the course is the breathtaking, must-visit Legacy of Liberty Park, a walk-through exhibit park featuring historical commemorations and an unforgettable collection of authentic World War II-era military equipment, vehicle, weaponry, and aircraft.

“The Battlefield Shootout is going to be a fun-filled event we’re proud to offer our members and resort guests on the amazing Battlefield course, so be sure you grab your tickets and book a room for the weekend so you don’t miss any part of the great times,” said Lance Funderburk, Shangri-La Resort’s general manager.
