(CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.) – Keswick Hall – the acclaimed 600-acre luxury resort set in the scenic Virginia Wine Country – announces its celebrated Pete Dye-designed Full Cry golf course will host the 67th edition of the annual Virginias-Carolinas Women’s Team Matches on July 15-16.
Since debuting in 1957, some of the best women amateur golfers from North Carolina and South Carolina square off each year against their counterparts from Virginia and West Virginia. Each team consists of 18 players with 10 amateurs (ages 18 and older), six seniors (ages 50 and older) and two super seniors (ages 60 and older). The Virginias will look to dethrone the Carolinas, who have won every event since 2018 and 12 of the last 13.
Full Cry merges the best of modern golf course architecture with the rolling topography of central Virginia and serene backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains on the horizon. Since opening in 2014 to rave reviews including “Best New Courses” by Golf Digest, Full Cry has received numerous accolades including current rankings of No. 4 in Golfweek for “Best You Can Play in Virginia” and No. 53 in Golfweek for “Top 200 Resort Courses in the U.S.” Keswick Hall has also been honored with the prestigious Golf Digest Editors’ Choice Award for “Best Golf Resorts in the Americas” for seven consecutive years.
“We are thrilled to add Keswick Hall to the celebrated history of host venues for the Virginias-Carolinas Women’s Team Matches,” says Molly and Robert Hardie, owners of Keswick Hall. “Full Cry is in fantastic condition and ready to welcome the teams to compete on one of the premier golf courses in the country.”
Under the direction of the Hardies, Keswick Hall recently completed a stunning resort transformation. The property’s new tennis facility provides access to seven tennis courts including two all-weather European red ClayTech courts, a hybrid surface combining a durable hardcourt with the unique beauty and playability of clay courts, and two dedicated pickleball courts.
