LIMA, Peru 12 September 2022 — As a celebrated oasis in the middle of the city and perfect symbiosis of the glamour of the past and cutting edge of the present, the recently renovated Country Club Lima Hotel is pleased to announce that its Bar Inglés was the undisputed winner of the Best Bar in Lima award at the 2022 Summum Awards, one of Peruvian gastronomy’s most important galas.
Bar Inglés is an iconic space with more than 90 years of history and tradition (and arguably the best Pisco Sour in Lima) that has long been a source of pride for the Country Club Lima Hotel. This award reaffirms the hotel’s commitment to offering experiences of excellence and constant innovation without neglecting the tradition and classics that have made it such a timeless, unique space. One Saturday each month Head Bartender Luiggy Arteaga partners with one of Peru’s most popular mixologists, such as Diageo Brand Ambassador Joel Chirinos, and together they host a special evening with live music for lovers of classic cocktails with innovative twists, where they introduce six new unique cocktails a month.
Similarly, and especially now that ceviche has become a popular dish consumed all over the world, Country Club Lima’s Executive Chef Danny Rojas and his team from Perroquet Restaurant will now be available to teach guests how to prepare several varieties of this emblematic Peruvian dish. These ceviche lessons must be booked in advance and take place in the restaurant, which is a destination worth visiting regardless, as it is home to not only incredible food, but also several contributions of the Pedro de Osma Foundation, which owns one of the greatest art collections in the country. Paintings and mirrors with gold leaf frames, colonial canvases, carved cabinets and trunks with pictorial motifs, consoles, chandeliers, and the history contained in all of these items impregnate the environment with a unique and unmistakably Peruvian history and spirit.
Other new additions include La Panadería del Country, which is arguably now one of Lima’s favorite bakeries offering artisanal coffees, a variety of bright enticing baked goods (for holiday festivities and more) and a light daytime menu available on its terrace, making it an instant local favorite. @lapanaderiadelcountry
From November 8 to December 22, the restaurant El Perroquet will also offer Christmas tea time service Tuesday to Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This will consist of a variety of sweet and savory breads, hot and cold sandwiches, a variety of salads, a meat station, charcuterie and cheese board and an array of desserts and fruits with a choice of pineapple, papaya or orange juice as well as a glass of cava to toast the festive season. USD$20 per person.
