BLACK HISTORY MONTH & POET HAROLD GREEN
To mark Black History Month in February, SOPHY has invited the poet, storyteller, and speaker Harold Green for a series of Sunday events this winter. Harold Green is an ever-evolving artist whose vibrant storytelling and passionate, lyrical delivery captivates audiences. Poetry is his métier, but Green is a highly sought-after speaker, bandleader, and event producer. On Sunday, January 29, 2023, he’ll bring his unique talents to the Opus Suite at SOPHY Hyde Park. On this evening, Green is welcoming special guest Dave Jeff, a cultural architect, a builder of brands, the creator of PHLI, and the overall voice to many communities, including his home base of Hyde Park. This event, which will run from 4 pm to 7 pm, will include live music and a reception with hors d’oeuvres, Funkytown beer, selected wines, and a signed copy of Harold Green’s Black Oak: Odes Celebrating Powerful Black Men or Black Roses: Odes Celebrating Powerful Black Women. Harold Green will also appear at SOPHY Hyde Park on February 26 and March 26, 2023. Tickets are $78 per person and can be purchased at https://meslerchicago.com/events

Chicago Restaurant Week 2023

Sunday Supper Music
A wintertime tradition at Mesler Chicago, early Sunday dinners are not only back but return with live music from Flowers for the Living through March. This artist’s collective layers poetry on performances by Chicago’s top singers and musicians. Sunday Supper Music is held every Sunday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with a menu that includes Mesler classics from the Midday Menu, like the signature Lobster Roll, the 5th Ward Burger, and the Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich.
Hours of Happy
Mesler’s Happy Hour happens Tuesdays – Thursdays, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. These happiest of hours are always one of the liveliest times in the hotel, with Bartender’s Choice for $10, a glass of House Wine for $8, and selected Beers for $5. They all go well with Mesler Fries, House Wings, Signature Deviled Eggs, Petite Cauliflower, and Seasonal Burrata. Every Thursday, there are live Hours of Happy music from Flowers for the Living.
