  • 4 Tablespoons butter
  • 2 Garlic cloves peeled and chopped
  • 1 Sliced Guajillo chili
  • 1 Pinch salt
  • 1 Pinch pepper
  • 1 shot glass of White tequila

Accompaniment:

  • 1/2 Grilled Yellow corn, cut in halves
  • 1/2 Cup cooked white rice
  • 1 tablespoon minced parsley

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the butter, the garlic, the chili and the shrimp seasoned with salt and pepper to taste. Sautee the shrimp until pink (3-5 min). Reduce heat and add tequila, then increase heat to medium-high. Tilt skillet over gas burner to ignite tequila or ignite with a long match (be careful, as flames may go high). Cook, shaking skillet gently once or twice, until flames subside. Remove from heat.

Serve like a Pro!

Coat a small size bowl with a thin layer of oil. Fill it with rice and flatten it with the back of your spoon. Place your plate upside down over the bowl. Gently and slowly lift the bowl. Place the shrimp around the rice, decorate with the grilled corn, sauce with the butter from the skillet and sprinkle with parsley.

Casa Kimberly, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Casa Kimberly, a luxurious escape in the heart of Puerto Vallarta, played a pivotal role in one of the most romantic moments in Old Hollywood history, the legendary romance of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. In 1964 Burton gifted Taylor what was then a house on her 32nd birthday and it became their renowned love nest. Now, the restored and expanded property offers nine Mexican Colonial meets Hollywood glam-styled regal suites, pool, spa and an open-air rooftop restaurant and bar named The Iguana Restaurant and Tequila Bar. The Tequila Bar serves a wide array of top-flight tequilas and mezcals, all made within driving distance of Casa Kimberly in the legendary region of Jalisco. Its most popular drink is the Casa Kimberly Margarita. “Mexico’s most well-known cocktail is a simple combination of good tequila, a little orange liqueur with a splash of fresh lime and orange juice. This uncomplicated and classic cocktail pairs well with everything but I like mine best with some freshly made ceviche,” said Juanita Gutierrez, General Manager of Casa Kimberly. This simple classic is perfectly balanced and easy to make at home.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz Tequila Sauza Hornitos
  • 1 oz Orange liqueur such as Cointreau
  • 1 oz fresh Lime Juice
  • 1/3 oz fresh Orange Juice

Instructions:

  1. Pour all ingredients into a salt-rimmed glass with ice and stir or put all ingredients into a blender with a cup of ice and blend until smooth.
