DUKES London, located in the heart of Mayfair, is looking to offer guests the ultimate five star experience this Christmas, with cosy overnight stays, festive afternoon teas and bespoke food menus – topped off by the chance to win a free stay, should you find the ‘lucky sixpence’ in one of its restaurant’s famed Christmas Puddings.
Steeped in royal history and a former favourite destination of Princess Diana and the Queen Mother, the hotel is looking to provide a quintessentially British experience this year — providing the perfect base to explore the wonders of the capital at Christmas.
What’s more, its popular Christmas puddings, which are prepared by hand by Executive Chef, Nigel Mendham, will also be on sale — adding just one ‘lucky sixpence’ to his limited edition puddings this year. The lucky finder will not only enjoy the traditional prize of a fortuitous year ahead but also win a stay for two, including dinner, to be taken during 2024.
This year, DUKES London is offering ‘The Ultimate Christmas Break’ package for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Alongside a two-night stay in either a One Bedroom Suite or The Duke of Clarence Suite, guests will arrive to mulled wine, hot chocolate and mince pies. Champagne and canapés will also be served before the opportunity to indulge in Christmas lunch in the Great British Restaurant (GBR).
Available from the 24th November to the 7th January (excluding Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve), the hotel will also be running its bespoke festive menu — celebrating some of Britain’s best seasonal ingredients. Nigel and his team at GBR have specially crafted each dish, with both two and three-course set prices available.
In a similar culinary vein, its highly anticipated festive afternoon tea will also be available from the 24th November to the 7th January, served in the elegant Drawing Room. With a selection of finger sandwiches presented alongside festive cakes and classic scones, the afternoon tea comes served with either traditional tea, Champagne, or mini MarTEAnis.
On Christmas Day itself, the hotel will be serving a special lunch with seatings at 12pm and 3pm. This will commence with a cocktail and canapés on arrival, followed by a seven-course menu that celebrates traditional Christmas classics. These dishes include Roasted Norfolk Bronze Turkey with ‘All The Trimmings’,Cauliflower Cheese Soup and a warm Christmas Pudding.
Following Christmas, on December 31st, DUKES London will also be hosting its New Year’s Eve celebrations — welcoming guests to enjoy a pre-celebratory dinner at GBR and see in the new year after indulging in great tasting British cuisine. With the last seating at 10pm, two and three-course set prices will be available — offering a delicious range of dishes including a Twice Baked Oxford Blue Souffle, Turkey Ballotine and Bailey’s Cheesecake.
Commenting on this year’s festive offering, Michael Purtill, General Manager of DUKES London said: “Christmas is a magical time of year for everyone and at DUKES London, we want to offer our guests the ultimate festive experience.
