When you think of a holiday in paradise, the Caribbean always quickly springs to mind, and with over 3,000 hours of sunshine a year, Barbados has a reputation as the ultimate getaway with a rich history and vibrant culture at its heart.
Sitting 1,000ft above sea level, Apes Hill Barbados has quickly built a reputation as one of the most talked-about resorts that combines the best in luxury living with a world-class golf course and extensive leisure and lifestyle facilities.
As golf continues to enjoy a post-pandemic boom in participation, more and more people are flocking to play the game with greater numbers looking to complement their family holidays with the thrill of the fairways. Indeed, many are looking even further with investment in properties and real estate on golf developments that are the perfect place for extended family breaks to enjoy the height of luxury living.
The popular Barbados resort will extend its residential offering next Spring with the addition of 14 new four-bedroom Hilltop Villas overlooking the new par-3 course – Little Apes – which, complete with its own challenge ‘19th hole’, will open for play this winter.
The resort’s golfing menu is backed up by a steady flow of investment and new facilities coming on stream, including a central, modern clubhouse complete with the ‘Noisy Cricket’ restaurant, which provides farm-to-fork dining and a range of theme nights for resort guests.
Also new is the resort’s racquet centre with both Padel and tennis available, plus a new range of hiking and gully trails for guests to immerse themselves in Apes Hill’s natural surroundings. Add to this yoga and Pilates classes and junior activity calendars and there is plenty for everyone to enjoy at Apes Hill, with wellbeing at the heart of the resort.
Perfectly situated on the pristine west coast, guests are just a short drive from glorious beaches where they can lounge by the sea with fresh food and refreshing drinks – or partake in sailing, snorkelling and paddleboarding on the easternmost reaches of the Caribbean Sea.
Providing guests with their own slice of paradise, the venue’s Courtyard Villas have gained popularity since opening for holiday stays at the start of the year. Each three-bedroom villa is fully equipped with kitchen and dining facilities as well as outdoor seating and dining options and a private plunge pool. A stay in a Courtyard Villa includes use of a private four-seater golf cart for ease of movement around the resort.

Gayle Talma, General Manager of Apes Hill Resort Inc., said: “There are few destinations in the world that have everything we have at Apes Hill. “The response to our reimagined golf course over the last 18 months has been fantastic, and thanks to the brilliant work of Ron Kirby we are now seen as a must-play venue. “However, with additions like our racquet centre and our partnership with Fairmont Royal Pavilion, we’re now a destination with something for everyone and we look forward to welcoming more people to explore our expanded offering.”
