BD Hotel’s are ready to share a glimpse of their first hotel outside of New York City, The Nora Hotel in West Palm Beach.
Located in The Nora District, a dynamic, 40-acre mixed-use pedestrian-friendly destination in downtown West Palm Beach, the hotel will be BD Hotel’s first new construction project outside of New York in collaboration with NDT Development and Place Projects.
The Nora Hotel will offer a luxury escape, elevating West Palm Beach’s hospitality landscape and drawing design inspiration from quintessential Palm Beach architecture.
Design Inspiration:
- Located just across the bridge from the iconic Palm Beach Island, The Nora Hotel is a tribute to the area’s rich history and the timeless influence of 20th-century architect Addison Mizner. Drawing from Mizner’s Mediterranean and Spanish Colonial Revival styles, the hotel showcases intricate, vibrant tiles, arched passages, and rich natural materials. In a unique design process, Born meticulously cut out and layered printed images of Mizner’s iconic façades over the Nora Hotel plans, using tape to piece together a vision that was true to the surrounding neighborhood.
Interior Design Approach:
- Gachot Studios, an acclaimed interior design firm based out of New York known for its refined approach to interior design, will curate the hotel’s interiors. The firm’s style is characterized by a strong sense of place, simplicity, elegance, and an unwavering attention to detail. Stantec, a global leader in sustainable design and engineering, is the hotel’s design architect and architect of record.
Culinary Offerings:
- BD Hotels, known for their indulgent dining experiences, will feature Pastis, a classic Parisian-style brasserie from New York City, created by James Beard Award-winning restaurateur Stephen Starr (STARR Restaurants), located on the ground floor of The Nora Hotel. Along with Pastis, STARR Restaurants will collaborate on the hotel’s rooftop restaurant and lounge, as well as provide in-room dining services. On the rooftop, guests will have access to a pool, a garden dining area, a rooftop lounge, two bars, and private cabanas. The ground floor of the hotel will be wrapped with a traditional loggia and garden area where guests can enjoy a peaceful ambiance and lush landscaping.
