A Cascade of Reasons to Experience Suncadia Resort

When stepping out on your balcony at Suncadia Resort, you may find yourself dreaming about the future. Resort guests often transport this panoramic feast of towering pine trees, Cascade Mountains, and blue sky into their favorite time of day.

The first time-travel leap could occur during the early morning hours. The thought of taking in the majesty of this balcony vista while sipping a steaming cup of coffee feels like Instagram heaven.

Sunrise may be stellar, but what about your first Suncadia sunset? There’s a quiet that blankets the resort as guests watch what appears to be a giant orange gumdrop easing toward the Cascade horizon. The sunrise and sunsets are great, but what happens in between is what makes Suncadia Resort a Pacific Northwest vacation magnet since 2003.

Hiking

One can’t help but ponder what you’ll discover when making your way through and around Suncadia Resort’s 6,400-acres. A favorite request from Suncadia guests is the sharing of the resort’s Nordic Trail Map. Navigating the vast alpine landscape is a natural wonder of amazing views, wildlife, and centuries of history.

The sign beckoning One Thousand Steps stands right outside the door of the Suncadia Lodge. The steps cover an elevation change that’s equivalent to a 19-story building. During your walk downward you notice signs featuring the footprint and summary of wildlife thriving in the Suncadia acreage. At the base of the walk is the scenic Cle Elum River.

Biking

If bicycling is your thing, then you will love Suncadia’s bike trails. The resort pathways are all about adventure, glorious views, and a fresh air workout like no other.

There are trails based on how leisurely or challenging a ride you prefer. Start with the Lodge Loop, then the Ridge Loop, and work your way up to the Dawson Loop. Enjoy picturesque valleys, freshwater ponds, and some of the finest scenic overlooks in all of Washington.

River Rafting, Kayaking, and Fishing

Stop by the Village Pavilion to rent a kayak, paddleboard, or canoe. Suncadia has a brand-new boat fleet, and there are even kayaks and paddleboards built for kids.

If adventure runs through your veins, Suncadia offers Guided River Raft and Flyfishing excursions. Trips include a streamside grilled salmon lunch that is complete with appetizers, dessert, and beverages.

Golf

Suncadia is one of the finest golf resorts in the Pacific Northwest. The resort features golf courses designed by Arnold Palmer and Peter Jacobsen.

Prepare for the best in mountain golf and unforgettable Cascade Mountain scenery at Prospector and Rope Rider golf courses. The courses are impeccably maintained, and they include historical mining era landmarks from hundreds of years ago.

Dining

The Stovehouse Restaurant is located next to the Prospector Golf Course. This dining setting features a huge glass wall and open-air patio that is perfect for golf course views and simply enjoying the great outdoors.

The Portals Restaurant is located at the Suncadia Lodge, and it offers dynamic views of the Cascade Mountains. The homespun menu spotlights artisan meals crafted with local inspiration.

Swiftwater Cellars is a winery that is positioned atop the historic Coal Mine Number 9. For those who enjoy pairing a favorite wine with beautiful view, know that Swiftwater delivers a stunning look at the Rope Rider Golf Course.

Road Trips

The petite city of Ellensburg, WA, was founded in 1871. The town was born as a haven for cattle drivers, trappers, and miners. Ellensburg is now home to Central Washington University, and the town’s main street features numerous restaurants and shops.

Roslyn (population 893) was one of the last mining and railroad towns in the Pacific Northwest. Most of the homes in Roslyn were built 100 years ago. Many of the scenes in the television show Northern Exposure were shot in Roslyn. The 140-year-old Brick Saloon is a tourism favorite for pub food and live music.

Take Me Back to Suncadia

Around the time the sun sets on your vacation is when guests start craving a return trip to Suncadia. Once you arrive home, you’ll start reminiscing about your Suncadia sunrise, sunset, and everything in between. It won’t be long before you return, holding that morning cup of coffee on your Suncadia balcony and…. well, the rest is up to you. https://www.destinationhotels.com/suncadia-resort
