Between Taylor Swift’s highly-anticipated three-night run, the city’s second-annual “Music Month” celebration, and a new Saints NFL team-themed package from The Pontchartrain, New Orleans is sure to welcome a record number of fanatics this October.
“Tour Tourism” continues to make headlines with reports from top travel site Expedia sharing staggering numbers like a 1130% increase in searches for destinations where Swift will host upcoming shows while traveling for sports games represents one of the fastest growing sectors of the travel industry with an estimated increase of 17.5% by 2030 as reported by CNBC and the UN World Tourism Organization.
Here are a few timely reasons to visit New Orleans this fall:
- New Orleans Music Month: For the Jazz Lovers, New Orleans will celebrate its second annual Music Month bringing several weeks of dynamic music and cultural events and offering a reprieve from the sprawling crowds that flock to Crescent City for Mardi Gras and JazzFest. Last year, the line-up included NOLA MusiCon, NOLAxNOLA, Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival, and NOLA FunkFest.
- Score with the Saints at The Pontchartrain: Paying homage to the birthplace of the New Orleans Saints NFL team, which were first signed into existence in The Pontchartrain’s Bayou Bar, the historic hotel is bringing fans the ultimate “Who Dat!” package this fall. Available to guests who book a two-night stay timed to the Saints regular season home games (Sunday, Monday, and Thursday nights), the package will include accommodations, two streetcar tickets, and an in-room tailgate welcome amenity with snacks, a six pack of local beer and specialty Pontchartrain koozie. The Saints will play at home twice during the month on October 13 and 17, and the package will be available September 5-December 30, 2024.
- Taylor Swift Tour: One of her first stops back in the US, Taylor Swift will arrive in New Orleans for a three-night run at the iconic Caesars Superdome from October 25-27. For an authentic Crescent City experience, Swifties should consider a stay at The Pontchartrain located in the heart of the Garden District and featuring a live jazz bar, rooftop cocktail hot spot, signature restaurant and more.
