Watson Links Mentors Foundation has named Pauly Hart as its new Executive Director. Hart’s role began on January 2and will focus on running the nationwide Watson Linksprogram, inspired initiative of eight-time major championTom Watson, Chairman of Watson Links MentorsFoundation.
The Watson Links program provides opportunities for kidsto learn and love golf, inspiring lifelong players who benefitfrom the positive life skills that come from playing the game.
“We welcome Pauly’s expertise and leadership in growingour program placing mentors and young golfers together,playing a real golf course,” said Watson. “We believe thatour program will produce young people who will develop apassion for golf and become lifetime golfers.”
Hart is a longtime golfer with extensive experience in the nonprofit and mentoring worlds.Hart most recently spent eight years as Executive Director of Lead to Read KC, where shechampioned early literacy in Kansas City and nearly quadrupled the size of their signatureReading and Mentoring program.
“Golf is a unique sport because it’s more than physical activity. It promotes mental health; itteaches patience and problem-solving skills; it also helps develop strong relationships. Plus,it’s fun!” said Hart. “I’m excited to help Watson Links grow the next generation of lifetimegolfers.”
Watson Links is eight-time Major Champion Tom Watson’s nationwide initiative to providea bridge from golf lessons on the driving range to playing on a real golf course for aspiringplayers ages 10 to 18. The program pairs youth players with adult golf mentors for fun,relaxed rounds of golf to hone basic skills, introduce course etiquette and reinforce valuablelife skills – all for free.
