NOVA SCOTIA: Fox Harb’r Resort, one of Canada’s premiere resort communities, announces additional development updates at its five-star property in Nova Scotia, including an accelerated launch of a second phase of construction for its new Carrick-McBroom designed golf course. By summer 2026 guests and members will have access to a 36-holes of golf comprising an 18-hole Ocean Course fronting the Northumberland Strait and an 18-hole parkland style course, adjacent to the resort’s vineyards, to be known as the Vineyard Course.
In addition to updates to its golf facilities and following the completion of the 37,000 sq Joyce Centre in 2022, plans are also in place for exclusive new real estate opportunities designed by acclaimed Canadian architect Brian MacKay Lyons, an expanded wellness centre, and new programming to go alongside the warm hospitality and world class amenities the resort is known for.
NATURALLY SPECTACUL’R
Set alongside the rocky red cliffs of Nova Scotia’s Northumberland Coast, Fox Harb’r Resort offers guests a sense of timeless luxury. Already a top-ranked course, the entire golf experience is being reimagined by two of Canada’s top golf architects, Doug Carrick and Tom McBroom. The design duo are collaborating for the first time to completely transform golf’s next chapter here.
The epic Atlantic Canada coast line will create some of the most spectacular golf vistas in the world.
“With construction on the Ocean Course well underway, we’re excited to turn our attention to the new Vineyard Course, which is now being advanced forward in the same timeframe as the Ocean Course,” says Carrick. “It’s a bold decision by Steven Joyce, owner of Fox Harb’r and will firmly establish the resort as a pinnacle golf destination. Having both an Oceanside Links and a Parkland Course will create a unique golf experience not found at many other resorts.”
Beyond golf, the resort offers abundant natural beauty and ample activities including hiking, cycling, fishing, clay shooting, archery, axe throwing, kayaking, and boat tours. With fine dining, ocean view accommodations, and a private runway on the property, Fox Harb’r offers the ultimate luxury getaway for travellers and an exclusive community for those lucky enough to call it home.
“We’re taking great care to build a comprehensive golf experience that best complements our dynamic community,” says Joyce. “Nova Scotia is rich in culture and off-the-beaten track experiences. It’s a place where people embrace the important things in life: family, friendships, health, and connection to nature.”
A MEMORABLE OCEANFRONT EXPERIENCE
The resort is the dream made reality of Tim Hortons’ co-founder and philanthropist, Ron Joyce. Its promise, “luxury without pretension” in a uniquely private destination with a vast offering of world class amenities.
In addition to a 36-hole championship golf course, the resort will also feature state-of-the-art practice facilities and a nine-hole pitch-and-putt course and putting green.
This announcement of the construction start of the Vineyard Course comes nearly one year after work began on Phase 1, the Ocean Course. The team, led by hotelier Kevin Toth, Fox Harb’r Resort president, have been working tirelessly to further elevate all aspects of the entire 1,100-acre property.
“Our goal is to cement the resort’s place among the very best golfing destinations in North America,” says Toth. “We’re confident our two championship courses will provide members and visiting golfers with a phenomenal new golfing experience here in Nova Scotia.”
The Atlantic province is quickly becoming known as one of Canada’s great golf destinations. This summer, 6 courses in Nova Scotia were featured on Score Golf’s Best Courses In Canada 2023 list.
