Spring is (almost) in bloom, and it’s time to hit the outdoors to enjoy what the beautiful state of Minnesota has to offer. From golf courses to art museums and bike trails, there’s something for every kind of explorer.
Swing Into the Season:
Spring is a “tee-rific” time to break out the clubs – no ifs, ands or putts – and Minnesota is known as one of the top golf destinations in the country. Top spots include Deacon’s Lodge, a par 72 championship course designed by Arnold Palmer, and Hazeltine National GC, slated to host the Ryder Cup for the second time in 2029.
With many courses offering resort lodging and easy access to numerous lakes and parks, spring golfing in Minnesota is a hole-in-one!
Painted Petals:
Enjoy the scenery outside – and inside – by heading to one of Minnesota’s many art museums and public art displays. Free for all visitors, the Minneapolis Institute of Art is known for its extensive collection of historic global art.
Down the street, the Walker Art Center is considered one of the best contemporary multidisciplinary art centers in the world with 11 galleries, a cinema, and a theater. For outdoor and public installations, check out the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, Mill Ruins Park, and Franconia Sculpture Park.
Scenic Routes:
Tune up the bicycle and hit Minnesota’s 4,000+ miles of paved biking paths, including the 600-mile Mississippi River Trail following the headwaters of the river down through the state. Gitchi Gami State Trail near the North Shore of Lake Superior offers a 5 mile ride with spectacular views.
The Grand Rounds Scenic Byway in Minneapolis is a 51-mile urban route through the city’s extensive, award winning lakes and parks system. Find true north alongside these byways, whether it’s an epic getaway or a quiet escape.
